How Damage Is Calculated in TBH Task Bar Hero — Complete DPS Formula Guide

Understanding the damage formula in TBH: Task Bar Hero is the key to optimizing your gear and maximizing DPS. This guide breaks down exactly how each stat contributes to your final damage output.

The Core DPS Formula

The simplified DPS formula in Task Bar Hero is:

DPS = Attack Speed × Base Damage × (1 + Crit Chance × (Crit Multiplier − 1))

But each of these values is itself the result of multiple stats interacting. Here's the full breakdown.

Step 1: Raw Hit Damage

Your raw hit damage starts with your weapon's base damage, then gets multiplied by two factors:

Raw Damage = Base Damage × (1 + Strength × 0.005) × (1 + All Damage % / 100)

Each point of Strength adds approximately 0.5% to your base weapon damage. So 50 Strength = 25% more base damage. The "All Damage %" stat from gear and runes stacks multiplicatively on top.

Step 2: Critical Hit Expectation

Crits multiply your damage randomly, but the expected (average) value is:

Crit Expected = Raw Damage × (1 + Crit Chance × (Crit Multiplier − 1))

Base Crit Chance is 5% and base Crit Multiplier is 150% (1.5×). With 20% crit chance and 200% crit damage (2.0× multiplier), your expected damage becomes: 100 × (1 + 0.20 × 1.0) = 120 damage on average.

Step 3: Attack Speed

Attack speed is modified by Intelligence:

APS = Base Attack Speed × (1 + Intelligence × 0.002)

Each point of Intelligence adds ~0.2% attack speed. A weapon with 1.0 base APS and 50 Intelligence becomes 1.1 attacks per second — a 10% DPS increase.

Step 4: Final DPS

DPS = Crit Expected × APS

This final number is what you see on the TBH calculator DPS display. Try different gear combinations to see how each stat affects the result in real time.
